The HERMES Team had the privilege of participating in Panathēnea 2026, an experience that left us inspired and energized by the vibrant innovation ecosystem that came together throughout the event. A major highlight for our team was our participation in the House of Robots, where we represented the University of Thessaly and had the opportunity to showcase our work in Biomedical & Healthcare Robotics. During the event, we presented our projects, shared our vision for the future of healthcare robotics, and discussed the role that emerging technologies and Physical AI can play in transforming patient care and improving quality of life. The event provided an exceptional platform for meaningful discussions with researchers, entrepreneurs, industry professionals, and technology enthusiasts. Through these interactions, we exchanged ideas, explored opportunities for future collaborations, and gained valuable insights into the latest developments shaping the technology sector. We would like to sincerely thank the organizing teams of Panathēnea 2026 and the House of Robots for their hospitality and for creating an environment that fosters innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. 2nd Automation & Robotics Expo

From April 25th to 27th, the HERMES Team had the distinct honor of participating in the A&R Expo held at the Metropolitan EXPO in Athens. It was a remarkable opportunity to showcase our latest advancements in Biomedical & Healthcare Robotics to a diverse and highly engaged audience of industry leaders, esteemed academics, and fellow students. The overwhelming enthusiasm and positive feedback we received from everyone who visited our booth were truly inspiring. Seeing people connect with our vision gives us an immense boost of motivation to continue developing our robotic exoskeleton and pushing the boundaries of assistive technologies to help those in need. Beyond the exhibition, we were thrilled to meet in person with our generous sponsors and supporting companies, diving deep into discussions about our shared goals and the future of our project. It was equally rewarding to network, share experiences, and exchange innovative ideas with other passionate student teams in the robotics field.

DATE 26 | Design, Automation and Test in Europe Conference

HERMES Team successfully participated in the Design, Automation and Test in Europe (DATE) Conference 2026, held in Verona, Italy, as part of the Young People Programme (YPP). The programme is a dedicated initiative aimed at supporting students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers, providing them with opportunities to engage with cutting-edge developments in design automation, embedded systems, and emerging technologies. During the event, the team presented its work on advanced robotic systems, embedded control architectures, and the engineering principles behind its exoskeleton technologies. The conference offered a valuable platform for interaction with students, researchers, and industry professionals from across Europe and beyond, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration. The University of Thessaly had a strong presence at DATE 2026 through the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, represented by HERMES Team, as well as the CASLAB, Coin-3D, and CSL laboratories. This collective participation highlighted the university’s active contribution to research and innovation in the fields of robotics and embedded systems. Participation in DATE 2026 provided HERMES Team with the opportunity to showcase its research, gain insights from leading experts, and strengthen its international network within the scientific and engineering community. ChemiST Con Greece 2026

The 1st ChemiST Con Greece marked the launch of a new Panhellenic student conference dedicated to Chemical Sciences and Technology, bringing together students, researchers, and young professionals from across Greece. The event took place at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), at the KEDEA Conference Center, fostering a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. HERMES Team from the University of Thessaly participated in the conference, presenting its research work and engaging with attendees through discussions on innovation in science and technology. The event’s central theme, “Chemistry Without Borders: Creating Bonds,” was reflected in the strong spirit of collaboration, networking, and idea-sharing among participants.
